Romeo is 16 years old and he is from the Montague family. At the beginning of the story, he's in love with a girl named Rosaline and he is devasted because she doesn't want to have sex with him. It's said : «She will not stay the siege of loving terms, nor bide th'encounter of assailing eyes, nor ope her lap to saint-seducing gold.» Therefore we can assume that he's very sensitive, and when he loves, he loves with passion. He would rather die than live without being loved. Love is an important part of his life, he loves Juliette with an extreme passion that can be suffocating.
Futhermore, the sentence below shows that Romeo is suffering from the conflict between his family and the Capulet family. He is not at all interested in violence. «O me! What fray was here? Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all. Here's much to do with hate but more with love.»
We think that Romeo could be a really likable guy but at some point he's moody and changes his mind all the time. Also we don't appreciate him particulary; his behaviour is selfish and single-minded.
We could say that Romeo doesn't love Juliet even if she's a Capulet, but because. Indeed before loving her, he was mad of Rosaline, another Capulet, he didn't know at all, he just found her pretty. When he goes to the party, he perfectly knows that there will be only Capulet and therefore only “enemies”. He seems to be attracted by dangerous and impossible love that let him be especially “insane in his passion”. If Juliet were a Montague that would be “too easy”: they could get married and everybody will agree with their marriage... Romeo yearns for the ultimate love he is ready to sacrifice anything even his own life for his love. Furthermore as a perfect teenager he wants to go over the rules, nobody can force him to forget Juliet: he has self-control on his life. It’s a mean to defy his family. Carmen.
I don't really think that Romeo didn't love Juliet...Conversely I think that it's the love that we call..Love at first sight!!! We can see from the film this really funny but actually emotional scene next to the aquarium where these two young , pure and innocent persons come together!!!!! Nasos
Romeo is a Montague teen-ager. He is 16 years old and he is in love with Juliette who is a capulet. Romeo is diffrenet than the others teen-ager, he is truely in love hence he is ready to give up his life to be a good husband. Juliette is 13, she's too young to marry but her love for Romeo is so true and deep that she decided to be his wife. This decesion will be the beginning of Succession of problems between the two familes. Romeo's love for juliette is a lot too boring, he can't live without her, he can't exist without her...! and we all know this kind of love does not exist. He should probably be less in love, and try to forget juliette for a moment.
